Hot Rods blank Great Lakes

Brock Burke continued his masterful work on the mound and Robbie Tenerowicz hit his seventh home run of the season as the Bowling Green Hot Rods picked up a 6-0 win at Great Lakes (Mich.) on Saturday.

Burke allowed four hits with a career-high 10 strikeouts over six innings to improve to 6-0. The left-hander’s ERA dropped to 1.10 on the season, the third lowest ERA in the Midwest League.

Nate Lowe homered to cap a four-run third inning, while Tenerowicz hit a two-run homer in the eighth inning.

Lucius Fox added two runs scored for Bowling Green (26-28).

The series will conclude at 1:05 p.m. CDT Sunday.

Right-hander Willy Ortiz (0-0, 1.17) is scheduled to start for the Hot Rods. Right-hander Dustin May (2-2, 4.57) is scheduled to start for Great Lakes (27-28).{&end}
