The Bowling Green Hot Rods routed the Fort Wayne TinCaps 11-4 on Thursday to complete a three-game sweep in Fort Wayne, Ind.

A night after a brilliant pitching performance by both starter Ethan Clark and reliever Jayson McKinley, Bowling Green got a solid performance from starter Kenny Rosenberg and reliever Reimin Ramos.

Coming off his best start of the season, Rosenberg recovered from giving up a two-run homer to TinCaps third basemen Hudson Potts in the first inning. He gave up just those two runs in seven innings while striking out six batters.

Ramos secured the win and the sweep with two innings of relief.

Offensively, the Hot Rods scored 10 or more runs for the 10th time this season and at one point scored 11 unanswered runs from the second inning to the seventh inning.

Once they started off their scoring barrage with a two-run homer by outfielder Jesus Sanchez in the second inning, a run-scoring groundout by third basemen Adrian Rondon in the third inning gave the Hot Rods the lead for good.

Two innings later, a two-run double from first basemen Nathaniel Lowe put the Hot Rods up 5-2. Bowling Green got a two-run double by outfielder Garrett Whitley and a RBI triple from outfielder Joshua Lowe to go up by six.

The Hot Rods finished off their surge with three runs in the seventh inning, headlined by a RBI single from Rondon and two TinCaps errors.

The Hot Rods’ series sweep is their first on the road since last year against Lake County in August.

They have a season-high four-game win streak and have won six of their last seven games overall.

The Hot Rods will continue a two-week stretch on the road Friday with the opener of a three-game series against the Great Lakes Loons.

First pitch is at 6:05 p.m. CST at Dow Diamond. The next 10 games will be played in the eastern time zone.
