Great Lakes snaps Hot Rods win streak

The Bowling Green Hot Rods’ season-high four-game win streak came to an end with a 3-2 loss at Great Lakes (Mich.) on Friday.
Oneil Cruz’s RBI double in the sixth was the difference as Great Lakes (27-27) took the opening game of a three-game series.
Lucius Fox had two hits and an RBI for Bowling Green (25-28), while Josh Lowe added a hit and a run scored.
Starting pitcher J.D. Busfield took the loss and remains winless since May 3. The right-hander allowed three runs – one earned – and six hits to drop to 3-3 on the season.
The series will continue at 6:05 p.m. CDT Saturday.
Left-hander Brock Burke (5-0, 1.23) is scheduled to start for the Hot Rods. Right-hander Jordan Sheffield (0-2, 3.22) is scheduled to start for the Loons.
