The defensive lineman recorded 37 tackles in 12 games with seven sacks, 11 tackles for loss, one forced fumble, two fumble recoveries and six passes defended.
The 6-foot-3, 275-pound Dawson-Brents will join former WKU linebacker Keith Brown in camp for Seattle. WKU grad George Fant was a starting offensive lineman last year for the Seahawks.
Brown and Dawson-Brents joined the Hilltopper program last season as graduate transfers along with quarterback Tyler Ferguson, who signed Saturday with the Tennessee Titans as an undrafted free agent.
Nine WKU players from the 2016 team are heading to the NFL either as draft picks, undrafted free agents or minicamp invitees: Brown, Dawson-Brents, Ferguson, Omarius Bryant (Baltimore Ravens), Nolan Dowling (Kansas City Chiefs), Max Halpin (Tampa Bay Buccaneers), Forrest Lamp (Los Angeles Chargers), Taywan Taylor (Titans) and Darrell Williams Jr. (San Francisco 49ers).
The nine join six former Hilltoppers currently listed on NFL rosters: Fant, Brandon Doughty (Miami Dolphins), Jonathan Dowling (Buffalo Bills), Jack Doyle (Indianapolis Colts), Tyler Higbee (Los Angeles Rams), and Prince Charles Iworah (49ers).
