Duckworth powers WKU to 14-3 win against Eastern Kentucky

Kaleb Duckworth hit a two-run home run and drove in four runs Monday, leading Western Kentucky to a 14-3 home win against Eastern Kentucky.
The designated hitter Duckworth, playing on his 21st birthday, went 2-for-3 and also scored three runs.
WKU (14-32) won for just the second time in its last nine games. The Hilltoppers split their two-game season series against the Colonels (22-23).
Colie Currie drove in three Hilltopper runs, while second baseman Tyler Robertson drove in a pair. Duckworth’s homer was his sixth of the year, while Grayson Ivey hit his first.
WKU pitchers Evan Acosta, Bailey Sutton, Conner Boyd and Michael Hicks combined to allow three runs.
Next up for the Toppers is a weekend series against Marshall in Charleston, W.Va. First pitch Friday is scheduled for 1 p.m.{&end}
