Louisville scored one run in the bottom of the fourth inning and beat Western Kentucky 1-0 Wednesday in college softball.

Kathryn Downing threw a complete game and allowed five hits, one earned run with one strikeout. Freshman Adarian Gray had the lone hit for WKU (24-23), which left four on base.

WKU resumes Conference USA play this weekend against Southern Miss with a Saturday doubleheader beginning at noon. WKU will honor seniors Kathryn Downing, Taylor Proctor and team manager Kelsey Jernigan.
