The Josephines: Band of Brothers

All four original members of Bowling Green’s The Josephines, a four-piece band with a mix of country-folk and alternative, psychedelic rock, held its last show together before a hiatus at Dublin’s Irish Pub, 904 State St., last week. Lead vocalist Brad Tabor will temporarily replace drummer Justin Wilson and bassist Zach Lindsey for upcoming scheduled dates that conflict with band-members prior obligations throughout the month.

Both locals Wilson and Lindsey are pursuing the North American leg of their tour within American rock band Mona–where members are from Dayton, Ohio and Bowling Green, but based in Nashville, Tenn. Mona’s promo tour is April 18 through May 10, starting west coast in Seattle and ending east coast in Albany, NY. Nashville’s The High Watt with supporting band Flagship scheduled April 30.

“We couldn’t be more excited for them. Josh (London) and I will still be doing it to it, but with a little less ‘bub’ on stage. Thanks to everyone that came out and partied with us over the last couple weeks,” Tabor said of his band of brothers or “bubs.” “Go see MONA in all their rock and all roll glory,” Tabor said, including friends Pierce Alexander Lindsey and Jordan Young, also members and friends in MONA.

Dates for The Josephines this week include The A-Frame, 1229 Center St., on Thursday with Kiss Kiss Bang and Jamie Resch Music. Kiss Kiss Bang are to be scheduled for an interview on classic rock D93 WDNS on Thursday at 4:20 p.m., and Tabor invites you in to listen to his friends on the station as well as joining for their album release party next month at Spillway Bar and Grill, 2195 Old Louisville Rd.

And for Saturday, Mellow Matt’s Music and More Record Store Day 2017 party at 1200 Smallhouse Rd., includes an afternoon music roster of Opossum Holler, Captain DEEN, Heron and Crane, The Creatures, The Cartoons and more. The store will open will open at 7 a.m., and Home Cafe & Marketplace will be on site with breakfast eats along with swag from Print Mafia.
