Gators’ Farley tosses no-hitter against Dawson Springs

Greenwood junior pitcher Parker Farley tossed the program’s seventh no-hitter Saturday in an 11-0 win over host Dawson Springs.

Farley nearly had a perfect game in the five-inning victory. He allowed no hits and no walks, but two runners reached base on errors.

Farley finished with eight strikeouts.

Dell Henk drove in three runs and John Hicks added two RBIs for Greenwood (10-9), which hosts Warren Central at 5 p.m. Tuesday.

Greenwood wins county tennis tournament

Greenwood’s boys’ and girls’ tennis teams won this weekend’s Leachman Buick Cup County Tennis Tournament

In the boys’ tournament, Greenwood beat South Warren and Warren East 5-0, and topped Warren Central 4-1.

Jacks Lancaster, Chris Agro and Tanner Gann scored singles wins against South Warren. Austin Schneller and Jacob Young, and Jonas Heartl and Phillip Proctor tallied doubles wins for the Gators.

Lancaster, Heartl and Chris French picked up singles wins against Warren East. Agro and Gann, and Will Parks and Aashir Aahmed tallied doubles wins for Greenwood.

The Lady Gators scored a 4-1 win over South Warren and beat Warren East 5-0.
