Hot Rods win in extra innings

Robbie Tenerowicz’s RBI triple in the 11th inning lifted the Bowling Green Hot Rods to a 5-4 win at Fort Wayne (Ind.) on Saturday.
Bowling Green (2-1) let a 4-2 lead slip away in the eighth, but was able to battle back and spoil the homer opener for Fort Wayne (1-2).
Jonah Heim paced the offense with three hits and two RBIs.
Miles Mastrobuoni and Nate Lowe finished with two hits each as the Hot Rods outhit the TinCaps 12-8.
Elias Torres tossed two scoreless innings to earn the win. The right-hander didn’t allow a hit, striking out two.
Peter Bayer allowed one run over five innings, striking out seven.
Bowling Green and Fort Wayne will wrap up the two-game series at 2:05 p.m. CDT Sunday.
Left-hander Travis Ott is scheduled to start for Bowling Green.
Left-hander Travis Keel is the scheduled starter for Fort Wayne.{&end}
