After wrapping up the indoor season over a month ago, the Western Kentucky track and field squads were back in action as a team this weekend and posted numerous top-15 finishes at the Pepsi Florida Relays hosted by Florida in Gainesville, Fla.

WKU senior Emmanuel Dasor took fourth in the 400-meter run with a time of 45.93 seconds. The Ghana native also did his part in the 4×100 relay as he was joined by Julius Morris, Ventavius Sears and Eli Minor. The foursome recorded a time of 38.91 to finish fifth.

Sears was 10th in the long jump, covering a distance of 23 feet, 3.25 inches on his second jump.

In the 400-meter hurdles, WKU’s Maor Seged finished in 11th in 52.33. Jonathan Hayden posted a 53.49 to place 16th and in the 110-meter hurdles, the West Palm Beach, Fla., native clocked a 14.12, turning in a 16th-place finish.

Minor, who transferred from Iowa Central Community College this year, competed in his first outdoor event as a Hilltopper finishing with a time of 10.59 in the 100.

On the women’s side, WKU junior Morgan McIntyre placed 10th in the pole vault.

Kaila Smith completed her best time yet in the 400 hurdles, setting a personal best with a time of 1:00.21 to finish 15th.

Senior Jenessa Jackson finished 10th in the shot put with a mark of 14.20 meters. 

The Hilltoppers will be back in action April 7-8 as they host the annual Hilltopper Relays taking place at the Charles M. Rueter Track and Field Complex.
