Two people arrested on drug charges

South Central Kentucky Drug Task Force detectives along with law enforcement officers from the Logan County Sheriff’s Department and Russellville Police Department arrested two people Saturday after executing a search warrant at 630 Clara Drive in Russellville, according to a news release from the drug task force.
Officers found suspected methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia and a gun, according to the release.
Tiffany Hardesty, 35, and Jason D. Lyons, 36, both of 630 Clara Drive, were arrested.
Hardesty was charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, equal or greater than two grams, first-degree possession of a controlled substance (meth), possession of a marijuana and possession of a drug paraphernalia, according to the release. Lyons was charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance equal or greater than two grams (second offense), first-degree possession of a controlled substance (meth), possession of a marijuana and possession of a drug paraphernalia.
Both are being held in the Logan County Detention Center – Hardesty on $2,500 cash bond and Lyons on $10,000 cash bond.
A man living in the 1100 block of Kenton Street reported Thursday that he had been away from his home for several days and when he returned Thursday night, the home had been ransacked.
A thief or thieves stole a wall-mounted 20-inch Samsung television, an Xbox 360 gaming system, hair dryer, beard trimmers and a small bag of marijuana, according to Bowling Green Police Department records.
The suspect was able to get inside the house through an unlocked bedroom window, records show.
Sodomy — A woman told city police she was sodomized Jan. 28 in a motel room in the 800 block of U.S. 31-W By-Pass.
The woman told police she had been staying with friends in the motel room and a man whose last name she doesn’t know forced himself on her while she was in the bathroom, according to a police report. She pushed him away during the assault but suffered bruising to her stomach area, the report said.
The victim went to an area emergency room to have her stomach checked but did not tell hospital staff she had been sexually assaulted, the report said. She disclosed the assault to police last week while officers were investigating an unrelated incident, the report said.
No arrests have been made.
She described the assailant as a Hispanic man in his 30s who weighs about 140 pounds and is 5 feet 3 inches tall with shoulder-length dark hair, according to police records. He had a Celtic cross tattooed on his left shoulder and cross tattooed on his neck. The woman said the man went by the name of Armando, but she didn’t know his last name.
Auto theft —A woman in the 200 block of Ragland Way said she left her car running Saturday while she went inside for about five minutes and someone stole the vehicle, a police report said.
The stolen vehicle is a 1995 gold Ford Explorer and is valued at $2,085.
When the woman saw the car was moving, she thought it slipped out of gear and ran outside. She said she saw a man in a gray jacket driving it away.
Burglary — Bowling Green police were called Saturday to a storage unit break-in at Overholt Storage, 535 Dishman Lane.
The victim told police that someone removed the lock on his storage unit and stole $1,158 worth of drywall tools. Two Porter-Cable drywall sanders and a Reddy drywall heater were among the stolen items.
