Halsel helps East Central to road win

East Central (Okla.) University senior guard Donovan Halsel (Warren Central Class of 2012) connected on a trio of 3-pointers to help the visiting Tigers pick up a 78-60 win over Harding (Ark.) on Thursday in Great American Conference men’s basketball action.
Halsel finished with 11 points and also chipped in with three rebounds and a pair of steals.
East Central (7-4 overall, 3-2 GAC) is back in action Saturday at Arkansas Tech.

Austin Peay sophomore guard/forward Jared Savage (Warren Central Class of 2015) finished with eight points in Thursday’s 76-67 road loss to Tennessee Tech.
Savage hit a pair of 3-pointers and also tallied seven rebounds, an assist, a steal and a block for the Governors.
Redshirt sophomore forward Chris Porter-Bunton (Warren Central Class of 2014) battled foul trouble and finished with a pair of rebounds along with an assist and one point in the loss.
Austin Peay (4-12, 0-2 Ohio Valley Conference) is back in action Saturday at OVC rival Jacksonville State.

Thomas More junior guard Jacob Hall (Warren Central Class of 2014) recorded a pair of assists in the Saints’ 74-72 road loss to Westminster (Pa.) on Thursday.
Hall scored two points and added a rebound for Thomas More (8-4, 4-1 Presidents’ Athletic Conference). The Saints are back in action Saturday at PAC rival Geneva (Pa.).

Austin Peay junior forward/center Sydney Gooch (Franklin-Simpson Class of 2014) helped the Governors pick up an 87-84 overtime road win Thursday over OVC rival Tennessee Tech.
Gooch finished with four points, two assists, two rebounds and a block for Austin Peay (7-9, 1-2 OVC). The Governors are back in action Saturday at OVC rival Jacksonville State.
