Central grads Murray, Barnett notch career highs

Brescia University freshman guard Tristen Murray (Warren Central Class of 2016) tallied a career-high 12 points in Tuesday’s 90-87 road loss to Lindsey Wilson in Columbia.

Murray came off the bench to sink 4-of-8 3-pointers. He also totaled three rebounds and a pair of assists in just 14 minutes.

Brescia sophomore forward Zach McDaniel (South Warren Class of 2015) started for the Bearcats and chipped in with six points and six assists.

Brescia (2-10) is back in action Friday at the University of Rio Grande (Ohio) for a River States Conference game.

Wabash Valley College freshman guard Tia Barnett (Warren Central Class of 2016) produced a career-high 16-point outing in Wednesday’s 131-49 win over visiting Malcolm X College in Mount Carmel, Ill.

Barnett also totaled six steals, five assists and three rebounds in the win for the Warriors.

Wabash Valley (12-1) is back in action Saturday at home against Lake Land College (Ill.).
