A 23-year-old Bowling Green man suffered multiple gunshot wounds in an incident Sunday at Coachman Court Apartments.
Bowling Green Police Department officers responded to a call shortly after 8:30 p.m. from a woman who said she had heard gunshots and then found her boyfriend had been shot while behind the residence.
Police found a large amount of blood throughout the residence and were told the shooting happened at the rear of the residence and the suspects were on foot, according to a police report.
The victim, while being taken to an ambulance, told police he went to the store and returned to the apartment, parking in the rear. “He exited his vehicle and began to walk inside when 2 male subjects appeared from between the residence and the apartment building next door,” the report said. “(The man) could see at least one of the suspects was holding a handgun. (The man) stated at least one of the suspects opened fire in his direction and struck him. … he went to the ground and the suspects ran way around the building toward the street.”
The man was only able to tell police that the suspects were wearing dark clothing.
A .40-caliber Glock handgun was found in the area where the victim said he had been standing, as was a large amount of blood. There also were shell casings located, all of of which were 9 mm.
The man’s condition was unavailable Monday.
