Two injured in Edmonson crash

The Kentucky State Police Post 3 Bowling Green responded to a two-vehicle injury collision at 4 p.m. Tuesday on Oak Hill Road in Edmonson County.
Margarett Oller, 17, of Brownsville, was operating a 2006 Saturn Ion southbound on Oak Hill Road when she dropped off the right shoulder of the road and overcorrected. The vehicle then went into the opposing lane and struck a northbound 2011 Nissan Juke driven by Courtney Johnson, 26, of Brownsville, according to a news release from KSP.
Oller, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown from the vehicle. She was flown to TriStar Skyline Medical Center in Nashville for treatment of her injuries.
A 6-year-old girl in Johnson’s vehicle was flown to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville for treatment. Their conditions were not known Wednesday morning.
The investigation is being led by Trooper Chris Newkirk. He was assisted on the scene by Edmonson County Sheriff’s Department, Brownsville Police Department, Edmonson County EMS, Brownsville and Chalybeate Fire Department, and the Edmonson County Jaws of Life Personnel.
Arrest — After 6 p.m. Monday, Logan County Sheriff’s Deputies Jarrod Lyons and Kyler Harvey went to the 100 block of Joe Montgomery Road looking for Jonathan G. Morgan for which there was an active warrant from Logan County.
Lyons located Morgan standing outside the home, took Morgan into custody based on the active warrant and searched him. Lyons found a bag in Morgan’s pocket containing white powder that field tested as methamphetamine. There also was a similar bag on the ground next to Morgan, according to a news release from the sheriff’s department.
Morgan was charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance (meth), possession of drug paraphernalia and for the failure to appear warrant. He is lodged in Logan County Detention Center without bond.
Arrest — During a Sunday traffic stop, Bowling Green police recovered a car that had been reported stolen and arrested the driver and two passengers.
While a police officer was patrolling the area near Lehman Avenue and U.S. 31-W By-Pass, the officer saw Jason Richardson, 35, and was aware that an active bench warrant had been issued for Richardson, according to police records.
The officer stopped Richardson, who was driving a late model Mercedes that had been reported stolen. He denied knowledge the car was stolen and said someone else allowed him to drive the car which he believed was a rental, records show.
Richardson was driving the car with a learner’s permit and not a full operator’s license, records show.
He was arrested on the outstanding warrant and also charged with receiving stolen property under under $10,000 and instructional permit violation. The outstanding warrant was issued for a failure to appear in court, according to online Warren County Regional Jail records.
He is lodged in the county jail on a combined bond of $6,625.
A passenger, Magen Marie Bruce, 29, of Scottsville, was also wanted on an outstanding warrant, records show. Jail records show the warrant was issued on an allegation of a parole violation. During a search of a bag that Bruce said belonged to her, police found a hypodermic needle with clear liquid in it inside of her wallet, records show.
Bruce was additionally charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance, first offense – methamphetamine, jail records show.
Her bond is set at $2,000.
A second passenger, James Richardson, 55, was searched and police found a small glass pipe that contained a white powdery substance in it. The pipe was inside a black bandana. He was charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance and posted a bond Monday for his release.
Police returned the car to the owner.
Arrest — Glasgow Police Department officers made an arrest Tuesday after responding to a shots-fired incident.
A caller said a shot from a neighboring apartment traveled through the wall at Embark Court Apartments.
Officers arrived and located Avsar Desuze, 20, of Glasgow, in apartment 108A.
Desuze told police he had accidentally discharged the weapon. Upon further investigation into the incident, officers arrested Desuze charging him with five counts of first-degree wanton endangerment. He was lodged in Barren County Detention Center without bond.
