A clerk at the Shell gas station on Riverview Drive reported an armed robbery about 8 p.m. Monday.
The suspect, who the clerk described as a Hispanic man, walked in, brandished a small black revolver and demanded cash and cigarettes before leaving in what police were told was a maroon Oldsmobile that was parked in a back alley, Bowling Green Police Department spokesman Officer Ronnie Ward said.
The suspect was wearing a black shirt, gray sweatpants and red baseball cap. No one was injured during the incident.
Police searched the area near the gas station for the car and the suspect.
Burglaries — Bowling Green police were called to two business break-ins Sunday.
Early Sunday, an employee of Family Dollar, 485 Glen Lilly Road, reported that someone used a rock to break the glass in the front door.
Video surveillance showed three people broke into the store. The employee had not taken an inventory but believed at the time that the only thing that appeared missing were several bags of candy near the front of the business, police records show.
At 12:56 a.m., police responded to a burglary alarm at Chuck’s Wine & Spirits, 386 Three Springs Road.
Police noticed glass broken at the drive-through window. No one was inside the building when police arrived. Surveillance video showed two men using a rock to smash the window. One man went inside and handed items to the second man standing outside. Both left before police arrival.
