Corvette museum, NCM Motorsports Park to honor veterans

The National Corvette Museum and NCM Motorsports park will host a special recognition day Nov. 3 for veterans and wounded warriors as part of the eighth annual Vets ‘n Vettes event presented by Mobil 1 and Military Appreciation Month.
Veterans can go to the NCM Motorsports Park at 505 Grimes Road between 9:30 and 11:30 a.m. for complimentary rides around the track in Corvettes, followed at noon by a veterans luncheon presented by Don Franklin Chevrolet GMC Buick of Somerset in the museum’s conference center. The lunch is free to veterans and their spouse or guest and will feature a buffet lunch, presentation of colors, wounded warriors from Fort Campbell and Fort Knox and a speaker.
All guests must RSVP by Oct. 30 by calling Bryce Burklow at 270-777-4506. Space is limited.
The museum, located at 350 Corvette Drive, also offers free admission to all American military veterans as well as police and firefighters plus their immediate accompanying family in November. They should show proof of service at the admissions counter to receive free admission. Museum hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
