Great to see bourbon fest grow

The annual Bowling Green Bourbon and Brewfest is a great event for this town.
Now in its second year, the event has taken off and has become a big draw for Bowling Green, with more distilleries represented and more people coming to it this year than last year.
On Saturday, more than 1,500 people came to the event, compared with 850 last year. Attendees let their hair down and had a wonderful time celebrating the event at Bowling Green Ballpark.
In unusually warm weather for mid-October for southcentral Kentucky, people flocked to the ballpark, where more than three dozen distilleries and breweries were waiting to offer their products.
This year was a big change, not only in attendance and distilleries, but also each tent had representatives to talk to people buying their wares.
Last year, there were only four tents that were largely devoid of company representatives. Having representatives at each tent is a great idea, because it helps sell their product and lets the customer know that the representatives take pride in their product and are able to provide answers about how their craft is made. Having a lot more tents this year also helped cut down on wait times, which is a huge plus.
Not only was this event a great time for those who attended it and the distillers and breweries that were there, it was also a great charity event. A portion of the events proceeds will go toward the Bowling Green-Warren County Humane Society and Bark Bark Inc., a nonprofit dedicated to building a dog park in downtown Bowling Green.
This is a really great cause and we are glad to see that funds will be going making the park a reality.
We’re really happy that so many people in the community and those from surrounding areas turned out for this event.
Events like this are a good for our city. We are glad it was a success and look forward to many more Bourbon and Brewfest celebrations in the future.
