The Bowling Green Fire Department’s annual Firehouse Festival will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Home Depot, 2233 Gary Farms Blvd., with lots of family-oriented fun.

This year’s theme is “Don’t Wait, Check the Date! Replace Smoke Alarms Every 10 Years.” The date being referred to is the manufacturing date on smoke detectors and after 10 years the entire alarm needs to be replaced.

Sparky the Fire Dog will be in attendance along with the department’s fire safety trailer. The event will also have equipment demonstrations, firefighter competitions and refreshments.
