Glasgow holds off ACS

The Glasgow Scotties remained unbeaten with a 28-26 victory over visiting Allen County-Scottsville on Friday.

Glasgow (3-0) stopped a potential game tying two-point conversion midway through the fourth period and then kept the Patriots from advancing for a potential game winner after ACS recovered an onside kick with a minute left.

Dessi Austin finished 17-for-26 passing for 228 yards and three scores, while Ben Hughes had seven catches for 108 yards and two scores.

Chase Wilson threw for 208 yards for Allen County-Scottsville (1-3), while Colton Cox had seven catches for 132 yards and Jaylon McPeak ran for 143 yards and two scores.

Both teams return to action at 7 p.m. Friday. Glasgow will host Warren East, while Allen County-Scottsville will host Barren County.

The Panthers remained unbeaten, rolling past the crosstown rival in the annual clash of the Cats.

MJ Jones had 85 yards on three carries with one rushing touchdown and a kick return for a score. Jaylyn McMurry finished 4-for-4 passing for 100 yards and two scores. 

Tyler Ezell finished 13-for-28 for 170 yards and two scores for Logan County (0-4), who has now lost 37 straight games – the longest current losing streak in Kentucky.

Logan County will host Greenwood at 7 p.m. Friday. Russellville (4-0) will play at Todd County Central at 7 p.m. Friday.
