Hayes has stellar debut as Centre’s new starting QB

Centre College junior quarterback Devin Hayes (Bowling Green Class of 2014) had a memorable debut as the Colonels’ starting quarterback, passing for 356 yards and four touchdowns as host Centre routed Hanover 35-13 on Saturday.

Hayes completed 21 of 32 passes on the day, while also splitting time as Centre’s punter with two kicks for a 32.5 yard average. Hayes even added a tackle.

Also for Centre (1-0), sophomore running back Colin Burnam (Warren Central Class of 2015) chipped in with three tackles. The Colonels are back in action Saturday at Anderson (Ind.).

Lindsey Wilson senior running back Jalen Sublett (Glasgow Class of 2012) tallied a pair of touchdown runs in the Blue Raiders’ 63-17 win over Lyon (Ark.) on Saturday in Columbia.

Sublett finished with 62 rushing yards on seven carries and also added a tackle.

Lindsey Wilson returns to action Saturday against Mid-South Conference rival Georgetown.

Murray State redshirt sophomore punter Landon Stratton (Logan County Class of 2014) made the most of a busy day on Saturday in a 52-3 loss to FBS program Illinois.

Stratton finished with seven punts for 297 yards, averaging 42.4 yards per kick with a long of 51 yards.

Murray State redshirt freshman wide receiver Jensen Feggins (Warren Central Class of 2015) totaled one catch for 17 yards in the game.

The Racers are back in action Saturday at home against Missouri State.

Kentucky sophomore defensive tackle Adrian Middleton (South Warren Class of 2014) finished with a pair of tackles, including one solo, in the Wildcats’ 44-35 season-opening loss to Southern Miss on Saturday at Commonwealth Stadium in Lexington.

Kentucky redshirt freshman Eli Brown (Warren East Class of 2015) added one solo tackle for the Wildcats.

Kentucky is back in action Saturday at SEC rival Florida.

Eastern Kentucky redshirt senior defensive lineman LaJuan Smith (Glasgow Class of 2012) finished with one tackle in EKU’s 45-24 loss to FBS program Purdue on Saturday.

Eastern Kentucky returns to action Thursday when the Colonels host Pikeville.
