The city of Bowling Green could get more than 200 acres bigger Tuesday, with the possible annexation of 234.79 acres into the city limits.
Areas to be annexed are on or near Bluegrass Farms Boulevard and Plano Road south of Interstate 65 and adjacent to current city limits. The annexation is by consent, meaning the six impacted property owners have agreed to be annexed into the city limits, according to a draft of the city ordinance that will be considered at the 4:30 p.m. meeting in the city commission chambers.

Also on Tuesday’s agenda, commissioners are expected to vote on:
•accepting a bid of $1,582,863 from Scotty’s Contracting of Bowling Green for the city’s fiscal year 2017 street paving program. The city intends to pave about 15 miles of road and replace 64 handicap ramps. Because Scotty’s bid was less than the $2 million the city allocated for the street paving program, additional streets will be added to the paving list, according to a memo from city public works inspector Joseph Webb.
•accepting a $67,750 bid from Kerr Office Group of Elizabethtown for lobby furniture for the Sloan Convention Center. The convention center is in the midst of a large-scale renovation.
•accepting a $282,585 bid from Kenney Machinery Corp. of Indianapolis for mowers and various equipment, and $53,196 from Whayne Supply Co. of Bowling Green for a skid steer loader and backhoe attachment, for the city’s Parks and Recreation Department.
•accepting an $83,811 bid from Gillie Hyde Auto Group of Glasgow for three trucks.
At the beginning of the meeting, a public hearing will be held to gather public input on amendments to the city’s Community Development Block Grant program. The changes are to facilitate the city’s contribution to the new United Way 2-1-1 call information service.
