An armed robber took an undisclosed amount of cash Tuesday from Snooper’s Attic in Franklin.

The Simpson County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint at 9:35 a.m. about an armed robbery at the home furnishing store at 1705 Bowling Green Road, Sgt. Forrest Winchester said.

He declined to say if the robber was a man or woman.

A robber came inside the business and displayed or indicated that he or she had a weapon and demanded money. The business owner, who was the only person inside the store, complied with the robber’s demands and the robber left, Winchester said.

No one was injured, Winchester said.

Burglaries — Items valued at $6,626 – including a $930 iPad, a $600 laptop, several pairs of sunglasses and jewelry — were taken between July 1-7 from a residence in the 1300 block of East 13th Avenue, the Bowling Green Police Department reported Tuesday.

The homeowner told police that she was out of town and was contacted by a neighbor who noticed an open window.

Further investigation by the neighbor showed the back door had been forced open. A pickaxe that had been in the resident’s garage was found inside and a locked bedroom door also had been forced open, police said. Food items were also taken from the kitchen.

In a second burglary, insulin needles valued at $100 were taken from a resident in the 2700 block of Navajo Court between July 9-10. The homeowner said the needles were in his bedroom.

In another case, a man called city police to his apartment Sunday in the 500 block of Nathan Rims Way on a burglary report.

The victim said the front door had been kicked in. The occupant said he didn’t go inside his apartment until police arrived, according to police records.

Once inside, police saw plastic sandwich bags with suspected marijuana residue in them and a small plastic bag with eight alprazolam pills that the occupant said did not belong to him, police records show. The occupant told police he had an idea of who broke in but declined to named the person.

The plastic bags were dusted for fingerprints, records show. Those items were collected as evidence, BGPD spokesman Officer Ronnie Ward said.

The man reported his safe with $5,000 cash in it was missing, along with an iPhone 6 and multiple personal documents.

Thefts — While a car was parked Monday in a driveway in the 1700 block of South Sunrise Drive, a thief or thieves opened a car door and stole a Sirius radio from inside. The radio is not usable without a subscription from the satellite radio provider.
