Business expo set Aug. 23
The South Central Kentucky Business Expo will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 23 at Ralphie’s Fun Center in Glasgow.
Morning activities include speakers from 9 to 11:15 a.m. Exhibitors are open for networking and to the public from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event is free to the public. More than 70 businesses will be represented.
Speakers will be Dave Tatman, executive director of the Kentucky Automotive Industry, and author Greg Coker, who wrote the “Soft Skills Field Manuel” and is with the Institute for Soft Skills. Coker is also the founder of the Cathedral Institute, a leadership development and consulting firm.
Another speaker will be Skip Wirth, who has more than 35 years of experience as a teacher, speaker and coach. Wirth has conducted more than 1,500 workshops.
Chamber plans workshops
Two workshops for the business community are scheduled in coming days by the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce.
A trade and export workshop will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 28. U.S. Chamber of Commerce trade and export expert Christopher Wenk will cover topics including the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade agreement. RSVP for the event is due July 25 to Emilee Buttrum, economic development coordinator.
A fair labor standards workshop will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 11. RSVP is due Aug. 8 to Buttrum.
United Way names Ingram
Keshia Ingram has been named director of community impact of United Way of Southern Kentucky. Ingram has been donor relations manager for United Way since December 2013.
“As we move forward in implementing our community impact platform, Keshia is the ideal person to help lead these efforts,” said Debbie Hills, president and chief executive officer of United Way of Southern Kentucky.
Ingram has led campaign work in Logan and Simpson counties and facilitated resource development for the Dolly Parton Imagination Library. She is a graduate of Murray State University, where she received a bachelor’s degree in business with an emphasis on accounting and a master’s degree in business administration.
