Warren County Public Schools Superintendent Rob Clayton is now eligible for step pay increases following approval from the district’s Board of Education during a meeting on Monday night.
Morgan Watson, the district’s chief communication officer, told the Daily News that Clayton is eligible for step increases starting this year for the duration of his contract. A step increase is an increase in pay based on an employee’s years of service in public education, she said.
The change is included in a third amendment to a contract between Clayton and the board. Watson said Clayton’s current salary is $153,520.
Also included is an increase in Clayton’s travel allowance. He’s to be allowed $1,000 per month for an automobile allowance up from $750 per month. All other terms of the contract are to remain the same, according to the amendment.
Among other business, the board approved many change orders and payments for construction at Warren East High School. It also approved minor changes to the student district handbook for 2016-17. Changes include banning all blades, including pocket knifes, and adding an asbestos management plan.
