Hot Rods sweep Fort Wayne

The Bowling Green Hot Rods ended the first half by completing a four-game sweep over Fort Wayne (Ind.) with a 13-0 victory at Fort Wayne on Sunday.
It was the first four game series sweep since August 2012 for Bowling Green (37-32), which ended the first half with a six-game win streak. The Hot Rods scored 46 runs in the four-game series –a franchise record for a four-game series.

Sunday was also the largest margin of victory for the Hot Rods since beating West Michigan 15-0 on May 26, 2014.
Brett Sullivan had three hits and three RBIs. Michael Russell and Kevin Padlo also finished with three hits for the Hot Rods. All nine hitters recorded at least one RBI, while Brandon Lowe equaled a franchise record with five walks.
Roel Ramirez (3-5) tossed six shutout innings to earn the win, allowing three hits with a season-high eight strikeouts.
Six Hot Rods will head to Cedar Rapids (Iowa) for the Midwest League All-Star game, which will take place at 7:05 p.m. on Tuesday.
Bowling Green will host Fort Wayne (Ind.) in a four-game series to open the second half, with game one scheduled for 6:35 p.m. on Thursday.
