The Warren County Sheriff’s Office is investigating allegations of sexual misconduct involving students at South Warren High School.

The investigation began after a school administrator reported the allegations to school resource officer Deputy Keith White, sheriff’s Maj. Tommy Smith said.

“Deputies are in the preliminary stages of the investigation and due to the fact that the victim or victims and the suspect or suspects up to this point are all are juveniles, I can’t release any other information at this time,” sheriff’s office spokesman Stephen Harmon said.

Smith elaborated that the investigation at this stage does not involve allegations against any school personnel.

“Based on our investigation right now there is no reason to believe any administration is involved,” Smith said.

Warren County Public Schools spokeswoman Morgan Watson confirmed that the school system is also investigating.

“Warren County Public Schools can confirm that the Warren County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the allegations of sexual impropriety and harassment,” Watson said. “WCPS takes every allegation seriously and is conducting a thorough internal investigation into these claims.

“Because the allegations have been made against minors and not adults, and out of respect to the ongoing investigation by the WCSO, we cannot comment further at this time. Safety remains the number one priority of Warren County Public Schools and we will continue to cooperate fully with the sheriff’s department.”
