The KCCE, established in 1965, serves as the society for chamber of commerce professionals in the state.

The KCCE Excellence Awards were created to recognize superior achievement and professional excellence among local chambers of commerce throughout Kentucky, according to a news release.

“We are honored today to be recognized by our Kentucky Chamber of Commerce Executives colleagues,” Ron Bunch, chamber president and chief executive officer, said in the release. “We have an extraordinary team at the Bowling Green Area Chamber that is focused on continuing to grow and provide value to our community. In addition to our team, I want to thank all of our chamber partners for their commitment to making this community an amazing place to live, work and play.”

The awards complement a successful year in economic development for the region. In 2015, southcentral Kentucky experienced a capital investment of $943 million and the creation of more than 1,000 new jobs. In addition, Warren County had two of the top five projects for capital investment in the state in 2015, with the expansions of Bowling Green Metalforming and General Motors.

“Our team consistently provides award-winning programming and services. In 2015, the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce was honored with three KCCE Excellence Awards, including two for Excellence in Communications and one for Membership Retention. We are so proud to once again be selected for our outstanding work in communications and membership services,” Vice President of Partnership Services Tonya Matthews said in the release.
