Kevin and Beth Smith of Bowling Green announce the engagement of their daughter, Emily Caroline Smith, to Kaleb Hunter Thompson, son of Jimmy and Marla Thompson of Bowling Green.

Emily is a 2010 graduate of Greenwood High School and a 2014 graduate of Western Kentucky University with a Master of Science degree in speech-language pathology. She is employed by The Medical Center as a speech-language pathologist and is a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church. She is the granddaughter of Tom and Lois Smith of Roseville, Minn., and Dallas Embry and the late Geneva Embry of Bowling Green.

Hunter is a 2010 graduate of Greenwood High School and studied animal science at WKU. He is currently attending Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in Auburn and is a member of Chalybeate United Baptist Church. He is the grandson of Bonnie Pursley and the late Bobby Pursley of Glasgow and Otto and Ersilla Thompson of Munfordville.

The wedding is June 11, 2016, at Jennings Creek Pavilion, with reception afterward at the same location.
