Steamer Seafood, a new downtown restaurant expected to open soon, recently was approved for an infusion of cash.
Gene Becker, associate director of the Barren River Area Development District, on Wednesday presented a loan plan to the BRADD executive council.
Dale Augenstein, owner of the restaurant, said the loan board for BRADD approved a $100,000 cash loan at 4 percent for five years, which will help with cash expenses for opening the restaurant inside the old Mariah Moore House.
Augenstein said Steamer Seafood will open next week, but the date has not been set.
