Glasgow police arrest ‘person of interest’ in shooting, no one injured

UPDATED 4:44 P.M. Friday: Glasgow Police Department officers have arrested Jeffrey D Riley, 19, of Glasgow in connection with the drive by shooting that occurred on West Washington Street.

Officers obtained a search warrant for a house Located at 115 Lynn Court in Glasgow where Riley was arrested.

A stolen .357 handgun, used in the shooting, was recovered during the search along with illegal drugs and a large sum of money, according to a press release from GPD. Riley is lodged in Barren County Jail on a string of charges including: two counts first-degree wanton endangerment, resisting arrest, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, receiving stolen property (firearm), possession of controlled substance and marijuana, trafficking in marijuana and a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and two counts of tampering with physical evidence.

EARLIER FRIDAY: At about 10:30 a.m. Friday, Glasgow Police officers responded to a call of shots fired into a residence on West Washington Street. 

No one was injured and the suspects left the area prior to police arrival, according to a release from the Glasgow Police Department.

Officers made an arrest a short time later involving a person of interest the shooting. That person’s name has not been released. 

The investigation is ongoing.
