Johnson, Embry stand out for Campbellsville at UCC Invitational

Campbellsville seniors Aaron Johnson (Logan County Class of 2012) and Clayton Embry (Butler County Class of 2012) turned in strong performances at Saturday’s University of the Cumberlands Invitational.
Johnson bested the field in the men’s hammer throw, unleashing the top throw of 44.62 meters. Johnson also took third in the discus with a throw of 40.16 meters.
Embry was second in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 16.53 seconds. Embry added a seventh-place finish for the Tigers in the hammer throw (37.79 meters.
Campbellsville will return to action Saturday in the Centre Twilight meet in Danville.

Eastern Kentucky sophomore Ciara Scott (Bowling Green Class of 2014) raced to a fourth-place finish in the women’s 1,500-meter run Friday at the Bellarmine Invitational in Louisville.
Scott finished the race in 4:37.62, which ranks as the fifth-best time in the Ohio Valley Conference in that event this season.
Eastern Kentucky will return to action Saturday in the Centre Twilight meet in Danville.
