SKyPAC names education outreach coordinator
Joshua A. Miller has joined the Southern Kentucky Performing Arts Center in Bowling Green as education outreach coordinator.
Miller is a graduate of Western Kentucky University and is pursuing a master’s degree of music in vocal pedagogy. He is a commissioned officer in the Army Reserves. Miller is a former member of the WKU Redshirts, performed as vocalist for the Big Red Party Machine band and is a hip-hop choreographer.
“After a national search of over 30 strong candidates and several interviews, I am very ecstatic about our choice in Joshua A. Miller as SKyPAC’s education outreach coordinator,” said Jan Allan Zarr, SKyPAC executive director, in a news release. “Joshua brings a wealth of experience in arts education, his philosophy of arts education aligns with our mission of enriching the lives of our communities through all the arts. The SKyPAC board of directors is pleased with the selection and look forward to watching Joshua evolve into this very important position.”
Miller said he is excited about the new job.
“I can’t wait to begin serving in a larger capacity for the arts and humanities in Southern Kentucky through the Southern Kentucky Performing Arts Center,” Miller said.

WRECC linemen will be recognized on Monday
Warren Rural Electric Cooperative Corp. linemen will be recognized Monday as part of National Lineman Appreciation Day.
“Every day, these talented and hardworking individuals put their lives on the line and sacrifice valuable time away from their families to keep the lights on,” said W. Scott Ramsey, WRECC president and chief executive officer, in a news release. “They work all hours of the day, often in hazardous conditions going above and beyond to restore power to … members. Our linemen, as well as linemen from across the nation, truly deserve this special day of recognition.”

Family services specialist added at funeral home
Cone Funeral Home added Sonya Bragg as a full-time family services specialist.
“Sonya Bragg will be working with families to ease the emotional and financial burden associated with losing a loved one,” said Kenneth Cone, funeral director and owner of Cone Funeral Home, in a news release.
Bragg is a licensed funeral director and was most recently associated with Bragg Monument Co.
“She is a lifelong resident of the area and is a graduate of Barren County High School and Western Kentucky University,” Cone said.
“Too often, I see families come into the funeral home stricken by grief and without a clue as to what their loved one would have wanted,” Bragg said. “I know that every family I help is one more family who will not be faced with that difficult situation.”
