EKU’s Scott wins women’s steeplechase at Nikoloff Invitational

Eastern Kentucky University sophomore Ciara Scott (Bowling Green Class of 2014) won Saturday’s women’s 2,000-meter steeplechase at the Oliver Nikoloff Invitational in Cincinnati.
Scott turned in a winning time of 7:11.32 to help EKU to a seventh-place finish in the women’s team standings.
Tiffin University sophomore Sydnie Anthony (Bowling Green Class of 2014) had a productive all-around day in the Nikoloff meet. Anthony was fifth in the triple jump (34 feet, 2 inches), seventh in the 100 meters (12.78) and ran the opening leg on Tiffin’s third-place 400 relay squad. Anthony helped Tiffin’s women finish third in the team standings.
On the men’s side, Northern Kentucky sophomore Keith Prive (Greenwood Class of 2014) added to a first-place relay finish Friday with a fifth-place finish in the 800 meters on Saturday. Prive clocked a time of 1:59.21 in the 800, helping NKU to a sixth-place finish in the men’s team standings.
Northern Kentucky returns to action Friday in the Hilltopper Relays hosted by Western Kentucky.
Tiffin will next compete in the All-Ohio Meet starting Thursday.
Eastern Kentucky is back in action Saturday in the Bellarmine Classic.

Campbellsville senior Aaron Johnson (Logan County Class of 2012) helped the Tigers to 13th-place finish in the men’s competition Saturday at the Centre Invitational in Danville.
Johnson turned in a fifth-place effort in the discus (140-05) and was seventh in the hammer throw (140-00).
Campbellsville is back in action Friday in the University of the Cumberlands Invitational.
