A pair of former Logan County teammates now reunited on Spalding University’s baseball team helped the Golden Eagles earn an easy home doubleheader sweep against Eureka (Ill.) on Saturday at Derby City Field in Louisville.

In the opener, Spalding freshman Matt Harper (Logan County Class of 2015) sparked a six-run second inning with his two-RBI double to left field. Spalding went on to win 12-2. Harper also scored a run in the game.

The Golden Eagles picked up a 25-4 victory in the nightcap, and Spalding sophomore catcher Ian Woodall (Logan County Class of 2014) drove in two runs and scored one in that victory.

Spalding (16-7 overall, 7-2 Saint Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) is back in action Wednesday in a non-conference home matchup against Centre.
