Blue Raiders’ Wood turns in another solid day at NAIA championships

Lindsey Wilson freshman Emily Wood (South Warren Class of 2015) helped the Blue Raiders to a ninth-place finish in the 800-yard freestyle relay Friday in the NAIA National Championships swim meet in Columbus, Ga. Wood swam the opening leg for Lindsey Wilson, which finished in 8 minutes, 1.48 seconds.
Individually, Wood finished 20th in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:10.53.
In the men’s competition, Lindsey Wilson junior Travis Durocher (Allen County-Scottsville Class of 2013) clocked a time of 53.72 seconds to finish 31st in the 100-yard butterfly . The Blue Raiders were ninth in the team standings after Friday’s second day of competition with the finals slated for Saturday.
