Federal, state and local law enforcement officials captured a man in Franklin on Friday who was wanted in connection with two armed bank robberies in Ohio.

The Franklin Police Department, Simpson County Sheriff’s Office, Kentucky State Police, FBI and U.S. Marshal’s Service took Myron A. Francis, 62, of Cleveland, Ohio, into custody at 11:15 a.m. in the parking lot of the Flying J Travel Plaza, according to a release from the FPD.

“A warrant was issued for Francis through the Mentor (Ohio) Municipal Court (referencing) his role in the aggravated robbery of the Huntington Bank” on Jan. 6, according to a post on Mentor Police Department’s Facebook page. The post makes no mention of the other robbery referenced in the FPD release.

Francis is homeless, according to the Mentor police’s Facebook page.

The U.S. Marshal’s Service contacted Franklin police and said it located Francis at the truck stop, FPD spokesman Lt. Dale Adams said. Francis was a passenger in a semi.

Francis was attempting to get into a semi truck when he was taken into custody, according to the release.

Francis was taken Friday afternoon to the federal courthouse in Bowling Green, where he signed a waiver to his right to an identity hearing and production of the warrant, according to U.S. District Court records.

Records do not show the charges against Francis, only that he is facing charges in the Northern District of Ohio. In his waiver, it said Francis requests that the hearings be held in the prosecuting district and he consents to be taken back to the prosecuting district where the charges are pending against him.

Francis is being held in the Warren County Regional Jail, according to online jail records.

The Mentor Police Department’s Facebook page indicates Francis will be extradited to Ohio but does not specify a timeframe.
