Delivery service coming to BG

After working with another food delivery company and researching the industry as a whole, Tina Boling came across TakeOutWaiter.com and knew this was her opportunity to make her dream of owning her own business a reality.

“I’ve always wanted to be a business owner, and when the opportunity to not only do this, but do it while serving my hungry friends and neighbors in my hometown, it was a no-brainer,” Boling said in an email.

TakeOutWaiter.com is the parent company of Restaurant Delivery USA and Boling knew she was in the right place from the first phone call with RDUSA’s CEO Mike Handy. She signed up with RDUSA in October and plans to begin service to the general public at 11 a.m. Jan. 20, she said.

“Simply put, it solves the problem of being able to provide a variety of cuisines to residents and businesses when they don’t have the time to dine out,” Boling said in an email. “Takeout Waiter of Bowling Green will not only do that, but also create jobs and provide a growing number of area restaurant partners the opportunity to serve the delivery customer.”

The customer can either place their order by phone or save a $1 by ordering online from TakeOutWaiter.com. Currently, Boling is in partnership with seven area restaurants, but the list continues to grow, she said. So far she is offering delivery from Tsunami Asian Restaurant, Lost River Pizza Co., Chuy’s, Doug’s Motor City Bar and Grill, Osaka Sushi Train, Jersey Mike’s Subs and Qdoba Mexican Eats.

Doug Doscher, owner of Doug’s Motor City Bar and Grill said he’s tried delivery before, but it never quite worked out so he hopes being partnered with TakeOutWaiter.com will work to his advantage.

“I thought this would be a good way to try (delivery) again and not have an investment because a lot of people just don’t like to go out,” Doscher said.

There is a $4.99 standard delivery fee. The drivers are independent contractors and much like servers at area restaurants, rely on tips to handle their own expenses, Boling said in an email. The minimum food order for delivery is $20 and the company’s delivery zone will cover a majority of the Bowling Green area beginning in the 42104 zip code, with plans to spread to 42101 and 42103 depending upon the growth of the staff and restaurant partners, she said.

Restaurant owners and/or managers desiring more information about the partnering process should email tboling@takeoutwaiter.com or call 270-847-9861. There is no up-front cost to join the program.

Anyone in the Bowling Green and surrounding areas interested in a delivery position should contact the above email and/or phone number.
