The Rev. Carlton Hatcher

The Rev. Carlton Hatcher, 86, of Bowling Green, entered into rest Jan. 1, 2016, at Hospice House. 

The Rev. Hatcher was born Oct. 4, 1929, in Riverside. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Boadley and Margaret Cole Hatcher; grandparents Guy and Bertha Cole, George W. and Nancy Belle Hatcher; mother and father-in-law Morris and Alma White; sister-in-law Gladys White Leachman; and brothers-in-law Lehman White, Wilton White, Mitchell White and Jimmy White.

The Rev. Hatcher began his ministry at Mount Olivet Cumberland Presbyterian Church and served his home church for seven years. Recently, he was serving the Little Muddy Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Pastor Emeritus of Bowling Green Cumberland Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Hatcher served for over 51 years in various churches in Alabama, Tennessee and Kentucky, while serving in many leadership roles on presbyterial and denominational boards and agencies. The Rev. Hatcher was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife, Cherry Lee White Hatcher, having been married for over 65 years; one sister, Signa Faye Welch of Bowling Green; two precious grandchildren, Isabella Grace and Charlie Curtis; many nieces and nephews, including Larissa White Priddy (Dennis), Amy Leachman Curtis (Dan), LaDonna Harris (Mark) and James Massey, brothers-in-law Charles Leachman, Lloyd White (Carla), Dickie White (Carolyn); and sisters-in-law Gail White, Ruby Jean Stem and Charlotte Sparks.

Funeral is Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at 1 p.m.  at Bowling Green Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Visitation will be Monday 2-8 p.m. at the church and Tuesday 10 a.m. until time of services at the Bowling Green Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery #2. Funeral arrangements under the direction of J. C. Kirby and Son Lovers Lane Chapel.
