Based in Elizabethtown, Bluegrass Cellular has offices in Bowling Green, Glasgow, Scottsville and Russellville. The network completion, achieved in partnership with Verizon’s LTE in Rural America program, makes Bluegrass one of the first regional carriers in the country to have an entire 4G LTE network.
As part of the expansion, the company launched more than 115 new 4G LTE sites. Bluegrass is one of the first regional carriers in the country to have an entire 4G LTE network, company officials noted in a news release.
As part of a five-year 4G LTE expansion plan, Bluegrass worked to have the build-out of its 4G LTE network completed by this year. During that time, its engineers and technical teams brought coverage to more 732,000 people in a 10,300-square-mile radius.
The expansion was made possible through Bluegrass’ partnership with Verizon Wireless. In 2010, Bluegrass became the first regional carrier to partner with Verizon’s LTE in Rural America program.
