BG, South stay at top of polls

Bowling Green and South Warren football are still atop their respective classes.
The Purples were ranked No. 1 in the Class 5A Associated Press poll released Monday, while the Spartans were ranked first in Class 4A.

BGHS garnered 16 of 18 first-place votes and 175 points overall. The Purples have been No. 1 each of the last four weeks.
Also in the 5A poll, Greenwood moved up two spots from No. 10 to No. 8. The Gators tallied 43 points in the poll.
South is at the top of the 4A poll for the sixth consecutive week. The Spartans were awarded 12 of 18 first-place votes and 169 points.
In the Class 2A poll, Butler County received 15 total points but was on the outside of the top 10 in 11th.
Russellville moved up one spot in the Class A poll from sixth to fifth. The Panthers tallied 88 points.
Of the area’s four ranked teams, only South Warren is in action this week. The Spartans play at Warren East.
