Deputies find meth lab, arrest three men

Warren County sheriff’s deputies arrested three men Sunday on charges of manufacturing methamphetamine.

Deputies were called to 4455 Cemetery Road on a tip about an active methamphetamine lab. They found an active meth lab, according to a news release from the Warren County Sheriff’s Office. A deputy certified in meth lab cleanup was summoned to dispose of the lab properly.

Jeffrey Gerard, 38, of Bowling Green, Jeffrey Grim, 29, of Mammoth Cave, and Kevin Moore, 39, of Bowling Green, were all charged with manufacturing methamphetamine. Grim was also charged with possession of a methamphetamine precursor and tampering with physical evidence. Moore is also charged with possession of a methamphetamine precursor, operating on a suspended license, operating a motor vehicle under the influence second offense, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.

All are in Warren County Regional Jail. Gerard’s and Grim’s bonds are set at $5,000. Moore’s bond is set at $3,000.

Drug arrest — While Bowling Green police were attempting to find a man to serve him with a warrant out of Logan County, they also found cause to arrest him on drug-related charges after finding suspected marijuana, cash and drug paraphernalia in his home, according to police reports.

Colton Hogendorn, 21, 636 Nutwood St., is charged with trafficking in marijuana 8 ounces to less than 5 pounds and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to Bowling Green Police Department records. He was arrested Sunday and posted a $1,000 unsecured bond Monday on his local charges and a $500 bond on his out-of-county charges and was released from jail.

Police found Hogendorn at the home he shares with his girlfriend. Hogendorn was not home when police arrived. While there, a police officer could smell fresh marijuana, records show. The officer asked Hogendorn’s girlfriend to call him. Police spoke to Hogendorn and he agreed to return to the house, where he was arrested.

The officer obtained a search warrant and found several gallon zipper plastic bags with suspected marijuana in them along with large rolls of cash, three glass pipes, rolling papers, a cigar splitter, a marijuana grinder, digital scales and other items associated with trafficking marijuana, according to police records.

Police seized 31.824 ounces of marijuana and $6,315 in cash. Hogendorn told police he was the only person involved in marijuana trafficking, records show.

Thefts — An employee of ABC Self Storage, 136 St. Charles St., reported Friday that someone broke into the storage facility and rummaged through a trailer, two campers, a motor home and two boats.

Several items were missing from one of the campers, according to police records. Police collected a flashlight and a metal file left outside one of the trailers.

In an unrelated theft, a man in the 1000 block of Wrenwood Drive reported Friday that someone stole the wheels of his 2015 SS Camaro and left the car sitting on blocks.

The thief or thieves broke out a window to avoid setting off an alarm and took the lug key from the glove box to remove the locker lugs on the wheels.

The wheels are valued at $6,000.

Bomb threat — A Bowling Green man threatened to blow up Bowling Green Towers Apartments on College Street.

The property manager told police Wednesday a resident was disciplined for disregarding the property rules. He was seen smoking and drinking alcohol on the premises, both of which are prohibited.

The man was overheard saying he wanted to blow up the building. When police questioned the man, he appeared to be intoxicated and denied having any confrontation with the apartment staff.

His name was redacted from police records pending investigation.

An alleged bomb threat at another apartment complex recently resulted in the arrest of a Saudi Arabian man.
