Divers at Barren River Lake found a body there at 1:31 p.m. today.

Officer Lucas Hurt of the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife confirmed that the victim was Clay Nelson, 21, of Bowling Green. Nelson’s body will undergo an autopsy, Hurt said.

Several search and rescue teams had been at a cove near The Narrows campground since Sunday morning, when Nelson jumped into the lake from some rocks and was reported missing after failing to resurface.

“The victim was found at the approximate location of where he went down,” said Tracy Shirley, director of Glasgow/Barren County Emergency Management.
