Harper and assistant coach Chris Shumate have hung close to Goodin, a four-star guard from Taylor County High School, since the July evaluation period began last week.
The 6-foot-3 combo guard, who’s ranked 71st in the nation by Rivals, averaged 12.8 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.6 assists over five games at the All-American camp, where he played with Team Wiggins.
Among his teammates were five-star shooting guard Rawle Alkins, four-star shooting guard Charles O’Bannon, four-star point guard Lamar Peters and three-star forward Austin Davis.
Goodin has narrowed his college choices to WKU, Xavier, Miami, Michigan and Florida. He said coaches from all five were present in New York.
Harper and Shumate watched Goodin frequently last week during the first week of the July evaluation period as his Indiana Elite AAU squad competed in the adidas Gauntlet Series Finale in the Atlanta area.
Goodin will stay on the road next week as he competes in the adidas Uprising Summer Championships in Las Vegas.
