Western Kentucky spent time Thursday at the Best of the South event watching Chris Vogt, a 6-10 junior center with the Kentucky Travelers’ 16U program.
The Graves County High School product lists offers from WKU, Middle Tennessee and Tulsa, as well as interest from Oklahoma and Indiana. The Hilltoppers have been involved for quite some time.

“I like the location,” Vogt said of WKU. “It’s close to home. My parents could come see games, and they have a good campus and a good basketball tradition.”
Vogt averaged 11.8 points and 7.5 rebounds as a sophomore for Graves County.
Although he still needs to add strength, Vogt is catching coaches’ attention because of something he possesses that can’t be taught – his size. He said he’s still working on his quickness and defense.
“Chris has definitely come a long way since he’s been a part of us,” Travelers coach Andre Mahorn said. “I’ve seen a lot of growth in Chris’ game. With him being the biggest man in the state, he’s a very skilled post player. He does a lot of things that you really can’t teach, and he does it well.
“Of course adding strength to his body will help, but he can do a whole lot of different things. He plays big inside.”
