Conference USA announced Monday that a league-high nine Western Kentucky football games will be broadcast nationally in 2015 across the CBS and Fox national networks.  

“Playing in front of a national audience is something you want as a player and for your program,” coach Jeff Brohm said in a news release. “Over the years, our players have become accustomed to playing games on national television so it’s a great tool to use in all areas of the program. Our fans who can’t make the games are able to follow the team home and away, so it’s exciting to have this many games on national television.”

Only WKU’s nonconference games at Vanderbilt, Indiana and LSU have yet to be announced as TV selections, but they’re largely expected to be picked up later as three of the premier games on the Tops’ slate. 

WKU will open its home schedule in primetime in front of a national TV audience against Louisiana Tech at 7 p.m. Sept. 10 on Fox Sports 1. The channel will also broadcast WKU’s season finale at 11 a.m. Nov. 27 at home against Marshall. 

The Hilltoppers have two games on CBS Sports Network, including the second home game of the season, a 2:30 p.m. contest against Miami (Ohio) on Sept. 26. The network will also carry the road game at North Texas at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 15.

Fox College Sports will feature the Hilltoppers’ game at Rice at 1:30 p.m. Oct. 3.

Four more games – home vs. Middle Tennessee and Florida Atlantic and road trips to Old Dominion and Florida International – will also appear on the Fox family of networks. More info on those contests will be announced 12 days prior to kickoff.
