Lowery was indicted last week by a Warren County grand jury. He is accused of stabbing Abrar R. Adam, 22, of Bowling Green, during an argument at a Robin Road apartment.

A Bowling Green Police Department report said officers responded March 18 to TriStar Greenview Regional Hospital, where Adam had been taken.

Casey Lowery, Jesse Lowery’s brother, and Dakota Adkison initially told officers that Adam was involved in an accident near Oakland.

“(Adam) stated he did not remember what occurred,” the report said. “It was apparent (Adam) had swelling and lacerations to the head.”

Medical staff told police that Adam had a stab wound to his neck. He was later taken to TriStar Skyline Medical Center in Nashville for further treatment.

Casey Lowery later told authorities that the incident happened at Robin Road and that it involved an argument over money between Adam and Jesse Lowery that became physical.

Jesse Lowery grabbed a knife while he and Adam were fighting and stabbed Adam in the neck, according to the report, before Adkison and Casey Lowery broke up the fight.

“Casey stated Jesse then picked up a bat and struck (Adam) in the face,” the report said.

Casey Lowery told police he took his brother to their mother’s house and then drove Adam to Greenview with Adkison.

Adkison confirmed the details of the incident, telling police that Jesse Lowery struck Adam in the face multiple times with the bat.

After being read his rights, Jesse Lowery told police he was involved in an altercation with his brother but was never in a fight or argument with Adam, according to the report.

Lowery is in Warren County Regional Jail in lieu of a $25,000 cash bond.

The grand jury indicted Adkison on a charge of tampering with physical evidence, and he was issued a summons to appear in Warren Circuit Court for arraignment.

First-degree assault is a Class B felony that carries a maximum punishment of 20 years in prison, while tampering with physical evidence is a Class D felony punishable by up to five years in prison.
