Clinton County senior point guard Keifer Dalton will walk on at Western Kentucky next season, according to CCHS coach Todd Messer.
The 6-foot guard averaged 17.8 points, five assists and three steals per game as a senior at Clinton County and finished his career as the school’s all-time leading scorer with 2,158 points.

“Keifer is a consummate point guard,” Messer told the Daily News on Thursday. “He has an outstanding knowledge of the game from both an offensive and defensive standpoint. He has a terrific skill set. He gets to the rim and into the paint off the dribble very well. Great decision-maker, great passer.
“He’s a really good defensive player. He’s a much stronger kid than what his stature appears. More than anything else, he’s a competitor. He has a will towin and a will to get better and do what it takes to make his team better.”
Dalton is also the program’s all-time leader in assists (602), steals (362), field goals made, and free throws made, and he has more than 500 career rebounds.
Since he became Clinton County’s starting point guard as an eighth-grader, the Bulldogs have gone a combined 98-43. They went 18-12 last season, falling to eventual state-runner up Bowling Green in the Region 4 Tournament quarterfinals.
Dalton should be the second walk-on for WKU next season, joining Owensboro senior guard Dylan Sanford.
The Tops’ previous two walk-ons, Rob Marberry and Brandon Price, left the program this offseason.
