Orchestra Kentucky has a full lineup for its 15th season on the heels of a very successful one.

“I think we have an incredible season. I’ve been working with Orchestra Kentucky for over a decade,” said Darrell Edwards, orchestra executive director. “It has been good to see it grow artistically and see it grow with the board of the directors.”

The orchestra has had record ticket sales for its 2014-15 season, Jeff Reed, orchestra music director and conductor, said.

“We’ve exceeded our ticket sale budget by $110,000 so far this year. We have a lot of headliners coming. We’ve found by bringing in these guest artists we bring in good crowds,” he said. “As long as they keep coming, we’ll continue to do it. We’ve had a really good year and we’re still not done. We’ve still got two more concerts.”

Subscriptions are on sale for the Retro Series and the VIP Series. Cost for the Retro Series ranges from $150 to $270 per person. Cost for the VIP Series ranges from $160 to $265. Subscribers to both series get 10 percent off the VIP Series.

“You get the best seats,” Reed said. “If you take prices to individual tickets and compare it to what a subscription costs, you get a free concert.”

The Retro Series concerts will be “Elvis @ 80” on July 25, Blood, Sweat & Tears on Aug. 22, Kenny Rogers on Sept. 26, “A Tribute to Carole King & The Great Keyboard Rockers” on Nov. 7, Marilyn McCoo and Billy Davis Jr. on Feb. 6, and “Pet Sounds Live: A Beach Boys Celebration” on March 12.

The VIP Series concerts will be “Paul Williams: The Art of Song” on Sept. 14, “Sci-Fi Spectacular!” on Oct. 19, “A Christmas Homecoming” on Dec. 14, “People’s Choice” on Jan. 25, “March Madness” on Feb. 22 and “Gershwin & Friends” on April 18.

Special events will include an Eagles Tribute and Michael W. Smith on Dec. 4.

All concerts except the Eagles tribute will be at the Southern Kentucky Performing Arts Center at 601 College St. The Eagles tribute will be at the Bowling Green Ballpark.

“SKyPAC is a first-class performing arts venue,” Edwards said. “The hall an orchestra plays in becomes its performing instrument.”

People don’t have to drive to Nashville, Louisville or Cincinnati to get quality entertainment, Edwards said.

“People were going to Nashville like mad,” he said. “They get the same level from Orchestra and SKyPAC. The quality and value is for a modest ticket price compared to some of those cities.”

The orchestra gets no support from Bowling Green or Warren County governments, Edwards said.

“We have incredibly loyal concert sponsors made up of individuals and corporate sponsors. That keeps the ticket prices down,” he said. “For a small town compared to Louisville, Cincinnati or Chicago, we’re fortunate to have the sponsors we have.”

The sponsors also help the orchestra’s Arts Access for All program, which offers organizations that could not usually afford to come to a show the opportunity to see one. The sponsors contribute nearly $8,000 to the program, Edwards said. The orchestra has worked with organizations such as the Salvation Army, Housing Authority of Bowling Green, various residence homes, the Boys and Girls Club of Bowling Green and local military families.

“We like to think there’s no reason people can’t hear Orchestra Kentucky at some point this year,” he said.

“An Evening with Lerner & Loewe” will be at 7:30 p.m. April 20. Tickets range from $15 to $42.

“One of These Nights: A Tribute to the Eagles” featuring the Rewinders and Retro Singers will be 7:30 p.m. on June 19 with a rain date of June 20 at the Bowling Green Ballpark at 300 Eighth Ave. Gates open at 6 p.m. Tickets are $20 general admission and $35 for reserved seats. Single tickets go on sale April 20.
