Two arrested for drug trafficking

Deputies from the Logan County Sheriff’s Department responded to a drug complaint Thursday at Econo Lodge at 1450 Bowling Green Road. Upon arrival, deputies spoke with Amanda Walden, 26, and Ricky Collins, 25, both of Russellville. According to the police report, deputies smelled and saw marijuana. Deputies located digital scales and about 41.7 grams of marijuana packaged for resale. A stolen .25-caliber handgun concealed inside a nightstand was later found.

Walden was arrested and charged with trafficking in marijuana less than 8 ounces first offense, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and receiving stolen property. Collins was arrested and charged with trafficking in marijuana less than 8 ounces first offense, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, unlawful transaction with a minor second degree, receiving stolen property and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Walden is being held in Logan County Jail with a $1,500 surety bond. Collins is being held with a $1,200 unsecured bond.

Accident – A 2001 Ford Mustang driven by Bobby Snoddy, 16, of Woodburn, with passenger Devin Hulse, 15, of Woodburn, was heading west on West Main Street in Auburn when the vehicle hit a patch of black ice and entered the east-bound lane, colliding with a 2000 F-450 truck driven by Marcus Huffman, 62, of Auburn.

Logan County Emergency Medical Services transported Huffman and Hulse to TriStar Greenview Regional Hospital, where they were treated for their injuries. Auburn Police Department is investigating the incident.
